The Hussar Grill first opened its legendary brass doors in 1964 and today, after 50 years of excellence, it is regarded as one of South Africa’s premier grill rooms. Having garnered a loyal following over the years, we are known for our award-winning speciality steaks and wine selection, superb service and warm ambience. Our award-winning Diner’s Club Platinum rated wine list is excellent and is carefully selected to accompany and pair with our delicious meals. To ensure a truly extraordinary experience, you are welcome to bring your own wines to enjoy with your meal.

The first Hussar Grill opened its legendary brass doors in 1964. Our subsequently opened grill rooms in Green Point, Camps Bay, Willowbridge, Stellenbosch, Constantia, Paarl and Somerset West have all become exceptionally well established and firm favourites within the communities and neighbourhoods they serve.

Our Award Winning Menu

From our carefully aged steaks, grilled to perfection, to our hog ribs that literally fall off the bone, the Hussar Grill has gained respect of meat-lovers all over the country. In addition to our legendary beef, game and venison cuts, you will also find a selection of poultry, seafood and salads to choose from as well as an assortment of desserts and a range of quality Italian coffees on offer.

A Cut Above The Rest

Our butchers and game farmers deliver on the finest quality South African Class-A grain-fed beef and wild game cuts without exception. The Hussar Grill owners and management staff are passionately involved in the maturation, trimming and preparation of all grills each day. Our beef is hung on the carcass for up to seven days, before being wet aged in our cold rooms for varying periods of up to thirty-five days. All of our cuts are brushed with our signature basting for that distinctive and succulent flavour you adore.

Award Winning Wine

We are proud recipients of a most prestigious Diners Club Platinum Status Award for our wine selection. Each individual wine is allocated with the most recent gradings from the Platter’s Wine Guide, the cellar’s geographical location as well as the alcohol by volume content for each wine (AVB). Our selection also includes a fairly extensive selection of wine by the glass, which we change on a regular basis to accommodate new estates and recent award winners. Although our wine list is fairly extensive, you are also welcome to bring your own wine with absolutely no corkage charge.
